You have created a modern version of the lava lamp, and put it on a bike! We for sure need a low ambient light situation full bike photo where your 'lamp' lights up and glows for your Finished Thread.

Yes indeed! Also, there are a lot of murals here in Atlanta, so I've been scouting out grayscale murals as a backdrop. Nice! They're in Little Five Points, and that area actually has a few potential photo spots. Savage Pizza used to have incredible window art. The Godzilla mural was my favorite. However, since COVID, they haven't had as much art put up

Fabricated a wire strain-reliever for my light assembly, and gave it a shot of coppertone.
Re-assembled everything and I couldn't be happier. I ended up retaining the tabs on the picture hanger, turned anchor/finishing washer. With one side bent out it made the perfect holster for the other end of the spring.
Though there is definitely a specific order of operation to assembly/ disassembly. Changing the battery requires nothing other than unscrewing the casing. I am extremely pleased with how this turned out.

This bike, wow. The colors, the fade, the stance, the creative use of stem/fork parts... it's all amazing. Came out fantastic. And then the ORB... That's another whole order of magnitude of wow factor.

Yep. Or get both of the grip sets OJ posted and use one of each. Regardless of grips this build is epic!...those Spruce green / blue ones !!
As mentioned in a previous post, in order for me to bolt the springer onto the bracket, I needed some space between the loop of the spring and the bolt. This allows a bit of space for it to shift to accommodate a degree or so of angle in the geometry. It is also why the spring is flipped with the wider side out. However, the spring is dancing around a bit too much because there is substantial variance at the narrow end as well.
A couple months back, Habitat for Humanity (ReStore) had a bucket full of peephole lenses for your front door. I bought 3 because I thought they had potential for a future 'who knows?' project, and they were only 50 cents each.
Well apparently, this project is that project. I needed some kind of sleeve that would fit into the spring, yet had a lip on it to keep it from sliding into the coil. It also needed a slight cup to that lip so my tension nut would nestle in and keep it centered. Everything I could have hoped for (part wise) was already fabricated into half of the peephole housing - Like it was made for this purpose.

Want to have a low profile fender brace, so...time to fabricate!
Took some finessing, but it worked out well.
Made my mount loops, then anchored the ends so I could shape the wire in place.
Zip-tied the down supports so that they would stay even with the sissybar.
Finally, anchored the wire to the fender, and massaged the final shape.
It can't be seen from profile, and hardly noticeable from behind.

That's a cool idea on the fender brace. Another thing to file away in the bag of tricks.

This build is so cool. Love the ORB!! If you need to expand the reflector just use some of my trusty foil tape on everything in there. 
Got the hub rebuilt. Took longer than expected because the axle was carved smooth at the center, resulting in a bunching up of metal and grease. Miraculously, the rest of the parts were ok.
I had another Bendix 70, so I figured I would just swap the axle. However, the locknut on the brake arm was frozen on the other one, so I couldn't fully disassemble the non-drive side. As a result, I had to go in with a brush, a pick, and degreaser to get the bearings clean. Trying to remove buildup on parts that are still assembled builds character lol. Thankfully everything else came apart fine, and once I got everything cleaned up, it went back together smoothly, and it rides great.

Tried to salvage the blue, glitter grips. The undersides are beautiful, but the tops are black like they were burned or weathered?
I sanded down the crusty parts on one grip, then hit it with a little heat to eliminate the fog, but the result isn't really worth the time put in. Didn't bother with the second. So I will take some pics with the orange and the blue/green grips, and see what looks best.
