Okay, I'm in, but I can't come up with a clever name for the bike. That's what is slowing me down from entering. As I mentioned earlier, this build will be sort of a reboot of my Green Machine from a few years ago, but with more of a '70's vibe on a painted Spaceliner frame. Some fauxtina and some shiny too.
What is the ruling on changing names mid build?

Okay, after thinking it over, I've decided I'm going to enter my grandpa's 1962 AMF-built Western Flyer Sonic Flyer into Class 1. It's not a bike I ever planned to enter in the RRBBO, as it's just a mild "rustoration" project, but out of everything in my stable, it's the only bike that 1. I can work on by myself, 2. I already know how I want to build, 3. I have most of the parts needed to complete it, and 3. I can easily finish by the end of July. Also, this bike has been hanging from a rotisserie in the corner of my workspace for the last 3 out of 5 years I've owned it, and it's high time I get it back together. Grandpa's not getting any younger, and I'd like to show him this bike in riding condition again soon.

Here's how my Western Flyer looked when Grandpa gave it to me 5 years ago:

Here's how it looked about a year later after I did a little work to it:

And here's how it looks now. This is what I'll be starting with:

it's funny that I have posted on Abner a half dozen times since Tuesday and no one seems to know how to respond. :21:

Hopefully it will make sense eventually. :)

Yes, I believe you are right. I'm showing my age. lol

There is also a specific idiom attached to the bike that apparently is not common knowledge either. The connection between the two is all but impossible without both pieces of the puzzle.

I'm loosing people coming and going!

The code name for the bike during the design stage was "Gladys?"

I’m out this year, I’ve been working in the ‘off season’ on a major (for me) build that I really need to focus my time and money on completing.
I’ll be watching from the sidelines though!
Go build some cool bikes guys!

Your getting very warm! It is a 'code name' of sorts, but it is not Gladys. It's the antithesis of Gladys!

Full disclosure, I had to Google "Abner" and "Aunt Clara" just to know what you were talking about. To be fair, I wasn't born until almost 30 years after "Bewitched" debuted. The only shows from the 1960s I'm really familiar with are Andy Griffith, Tom & Jerry, and almost anything Hanna Barbara made.

So I just found out that there is a very high likelihood that I will have the first two weeks of July off. Sounds like I will not be on call or subject to any travel and I may actually have a complete 14 days "off"

To build or not to build?

What better way to relax for 2 weeks than to do a complex class 2 build?
