Is the Muscle Bike Build Off Annual?

A question to answer would be, is this a 'skinny tire build off' that could result in such awesome creations as @tjwilson 's collegiate chopper? Or is this a 'road, touring, and fixie build off' with a max 32mm wide tire (and perhaps no major frame mods?)?
That's a very good question. Let's keep this discussion going and then I'll start another thread with a voting poll and gauge some interest of these three winter build off options. Muscle, off-road, skinny

What if the limits were just the tire sizes? Most will probably build the diamond frames that the skinny tires come on. The exceptions will be the ones to watch.

I would love that triple combination! It would create several options for me...
And until then the shed should be done.

I've got 1892 and 1933 skinny 28"s that are ready for a build off. A friendly competition might be the motivation I need to get one done.

Have to see how much other interest there is. I know muscle is in. Not sure about the ORBO
Off Road would be the only one I'd be interested in entering. Lol the "skinny" one I had planned was 26x1.75.

Unless Ingola lets me build one of his bikes using his living room

635 is metric diameter... It's the second number that would determine "skinniness"

It's both a vibe and probably for our purposes needs a specific number... I can probably guess if its big enough to have a whitewall it's too fat...

Skinny tires man. Like most things in here, if you have to ask, the answer should probably be no. Safe bets are 26 x 1 3/8", 27 x 1 1/4 and 700 x 32c or smaller. Everyone of those are skinny and easy to find. But still not the only sizes. Chicago Schwinn have another skinny size from back when they monopolized their wheels, and I think Raleigh did too. Gumwall tires on old ten speed frames, yeah those are skinny and ugly...

The Dutch tires or 28s are 40-635 and I don't believe there's a thinner 28

If we go with the three categories I'll probably be in with two builds:
"(never give up) Hope4muscle":

And I'll also might give the donor bike of that build a chance to become "Skinny'ma":

The build concept is already forming in my head (hence the name) and I have a very special "paint job" in mind. If we go traditional without a skinny category I'll save the idea for the next summer BO and focus on my kids bike.

Custom paint eh? I'm about ready to do a red primer and pinstripes scheme just because I haven't done one yet! Maybe a skinny tire rat racer (stretch?) I've also been toying with the idea of building an exaggerated cartoon style time trials bike...

Well a bit of Google math and 1.75 inches to mm yields 44.45 if we allowed the dutch 28 's in at 40-635 (which is a fairly wide tire) the max of 40mm still leaves 1.75" tires out as too wide.

I've got a 40-622 which you can see is a 700 x 38c and it is not really a skinny tire. But on the larger diameter rim does have the skinny vibe. Google math says 40mm = 1.57" I think maybe that's our limits, 40mm or 1.5"

If we left the Dutch tires out anything with rod brakes would be out and most roadsters.

Anything smaller than 40-622 I would consider as skinny'ish when I build a 28' street bike.
I'll check the tyre sizes on my rides in the basement later (Wolverine and Clear-Out). Also the front tyre of the BuggyTrike is a skinny one... Most of my rides roll on standard 20-22mm rims...
