Nice bike to start with. I like those truss rods coming together at the top to one point and the bracing back to the fork. Interested to see what you come up with.

There is usually a few rat rod bikes at the flying eyeball reunion show in August at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds and nobody seems to view it as "riding the coattails". But I know where you are coming from though. If you can try to make it up this way for that show or the motorcycle swap...

i have a 47 dayton(huffman built ) and those drop outs are more pointed and blunt ended where as these are rounded at the end and no there is not a missing bar that i can tell
