I guess the obvious questions that I have now are: What kind of grease do you all run in your crank and head set bearings? What bikes and models are available in a 24" or larger muscle type bike with 'Nanner seat and what not? How do you all polish out surface rusting on chrome handlebars...
Here is that piece of art on the seat.
I aired up the cracked, bald, old tires and rode it for a bit today. It handles completely differently than my 26" Ross Diamond Cruiser. I prefer how touchy this is to how heavy and clumsy the Ross is. Perhaps a 24" Eliminator or Muscle bike is for me...
I am going to grab me a Huffy Desperado in the morning. It seems to be in good shape and has a nice price tag on it, so it will be in my garage before about ten am. Can anyone tell me what the other Huffy western themed bikes were?
Here is a pair of pics.
What do you think?
Thanks Jeff. It seems I have all of the normal tools, but none of the bike specific tools. May I ask, what a cone wrench, headset wrench, crank and bottom wrenches all are. I haven't used them, but I am sure Performance Bike carries them.
I am speaking of tools that you routinely use for bicycle service and building. If possible, list size ranges for wrenches and sockets (by drive size), screwdrivers and anything else you may use. I am looking to amass the necessary tools needed that I don't already own.
Well, if it is any consolation, I bought Wolverine #1 from the 1988 series for $1 last weekend. Granted, I also bought Uncle Scrooge #71 for $1 (in current shape, it is worth $30). I found the first appearance of Archangel (X-Factor #24) for $1 as well...good weekend.
Dude, killer Claremont/JRJr-era Colossus ink! Frank Miller is a literary specimen along with the likes of Alan Moore, IMO. For art-sake, I love anything that Jim Lee has done, including the X-Men 2nd series from 1991. It is that series that gained my love for the characters. Certain books I had...
I recommend looking into the series from about eight years ago, All Star Superman. It is Grant Morrison at his finest. Growing up, I loved the Claremont X-Men books. From the 90s, Spawn was my favorite ongoing as Todd McFarlane is simply spectacular.
I am an old school comic book geek. I love the silver and bronze age Avengers books, but my main pleasure is the early Swamp Thing books written by Alan Moore. His writing is transcendent in that it applies now just as it did in the eighties. I am looking to acquire early Saga of Swamp Thing...
I will have to check on the bikefest, but as of now, my riding is simply around town as I can't get away too often. I will get some pictures up for you all, but the ride is solid. I took the Araya wheels back off the bike as the chain was jumping and skipping. I threw the old wheels and tires...
Hey all, I am new here. I live in eastern Kansas, just south of Lawrence to be exact. I found this slice of heaven while doing a Google search on my Ross Diamond Cruiser that I bought two weeks ago off of CL. I have already replaced the tires and wheels with a set off of a 90s GT Karakoram...
