Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ 7/7 Pipes done, now Wings again + a Bomb

I love the way your bike is coming together kingfish. The chainguard is awesome 8) 8) I like the missle idea as well. The wings on the front look to be a natural fit.I'm still up in the air on the rear wings however. Can't decide if I like them on the seat stays or not.The chain stay wings are cool and the suspension mods are ridiculously sweet :!: :!: And the shifter? You nailed it.The whole bike is just loaded with great ideas and nicely executed. This one will be hard to beat :!: :!:

The Ford/Chevy/kingfish combo front bird is cool.

That is the coolest chainGUARD I have ever seen. Once you get those lights behind it...oh, man, watch out.

Thanks a lot for the feedback and props peat.
Header pipes would look great on your bike.
I am trying to find the right red plastic to use behind the louvers.

Man this bike it awesome! I can't stop looking at all the cool little bits all over it. You've done a superb job! Very 8)

Thanks char. Only a few more bits of engineering and then I can start the bling. :D

Pretty cool stuff, exhaust, hood ornament parts, suspension, frame, it all flows together. Tuff bike!

Thanks MF, I think it flows well for the most part. I just want to make sure I don't add so much that it dtracts from the frame or hides the 1939 inspired rear suspension.

You're killing me with all these neat little details!

Thanks psyco.
Some are still just mockups and may not make the final cut.
Of course the pipes are here to stay!!

Circa, I REALLY do appreciate your feedback and props!!!

I taped the missile up for fun. There is something cool about it, but I don't know if it will be there in the end.

I agree with you and peat that the ford/chevy/kingfish front hoodie fit naturally. That is staying for sure.

I'm not sold on the rear wings either. The old location just doesn't work with the exhaust, unless I flip the fins downward. We'll see.

I have been so busy with the rest of the bike, sometimes it is easy to forget the TwinFlex rear suspension.

I love the shifter too. It looks cool AND it works beautifully with the Nexus 7.

I know I have a very cool incomplete bike going on and I know that I will get some votes, but there are a TON of sick builds going into the final stretch. I look forward to seeing all of the builds and I am counting on everyone that posted a nice comment here to VOTE FOR Flex-Liner 7!!!! LOL!!!!!!  :p :p

Just make sure they aren't leaving nice comments in place of a vote! :?

I'll take either one. I'm having too much fun to worry about votes. Once you start worrying about votes, that's when the drama starts!!!!

King. She is sweet. I can't wait to see the guard once you are finished with it.

Thanks man. I think I am going to just enter the chainguard by itself and forget about the bike! 8)

Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ TwinFlexSpaceliner 7/8 Light or No Light??

I really like the old 40s-50s spotlight and I have some cool plans for the internals and lense, BUT I am not sure if it flows with the bike.

OPINIONS!!!!!????????

What if you mounted the headlight upside down from the handlebars?

Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ TwinFlexSpaceliner 7/8 Light or No Light???

Hmmmmmm, I'll have to consider that. I don't want to hide the beehive though.

Here is a photo that shows the light pretty well.

Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ TwinFlexSpaceliner 7/8 Light or No Light???

If your going to mount the light on the fender .. Id suggest you use a missle looking light in chrome.. Kind of like one of these type of lights ,, The light on the gray bike was not original & looked dumb because it was to big .. When I added the smaller light it was much more in scale for this bike. But with that being said my bike is supposed to have a round light.. :?

Yes this is the same bike before & after I removed the gray paint .. But look at the lights i think they would flow better than a round light on your bike . :? :?: . But that is a nice looking round light you have .. I respectfully tend to agree with the others & try it on the bars .If the light you had was smaller it wouldnt hide the front springer as much..Just my 2 cents .. :D

Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ TwinFlexSpaceliner 7/8 Light or No Light???

I'm in agreement with tanksalot. That's a great light, but it kind of overwhelms the details on the front end.Try hanging it from the bars so everyone can appreciate all the detail on the fork.I know you love exploring your options

Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ TwinFlexSpaceliner 7/8 Light or No Light???

I went out to the shop and just couldn't wrap my mind around a good way to make a strong enough bracket from the handlebar stem that would still flow with the bike. Also the bottom side of the light isn't nice and shiny like the top side.

I decided to look at my other lights and saw once that is slender like peatbog's, and another of similar scale. Maybe double smaller lights from the bottom of the slingshot stem??? I held them up there and it just kinda fits.

The only matching smaller lights I have are the two generator ones on the pair of Phillips I got last weekend. These are very cool lights, but I don't think I wanna bust them up. Ebay here I come.

I also have a bucket full of carbide lamps, but they don't quite match the space age vibe.

I still have to see if this horn bell will fit the build.

Re: █ Flex★Liner⑦ █ TwinFlexSpaceliner 7/8 Light or No Light???

You have an AMAZING bike but I think the stem is throwing off the flow in my opinion. Then again, I like low bikes. I thought about a stem like that, but I didn't care for the rise. I love the bars, but think they would look a little better lower to the frame. Then mount the light to the bars or hang it from the bars upside down. I also REALLY like the shape of the light housing that is attached to the long arm.

All I have to do is get my handy dandy foil tape and I can have it mocked up in no time.

I tend to agree with you about the scale of the spotlight kinda overwhelms the details of the front end. There is a lot going on up front and that big mass of chrome is just a bit too much.

Well one day, I'll be able to use the lid from this pitcher as my lense (and possibly the red inner section as a secondary lense behind the lid with my graphics on it.
