Playing around with a coupe of deep Monark fender tips and reflector. Don't know if I am feeling it for this build, but I thought it would be cool to have a suspended rear fender section for some build
I can see that, cool idea.Playing around with a coupe of deep Monark fender tips and reflector. Don't know if I am feeling it for this build, but I thought it would be cool to have a suspended rear fender section for some build

I like the way the trim seems to wrap around, gives the bike the look of having a big American iron bumper.Decided to play with skirts (fender skirts that is, I'm not Caitlyn Jenner).
Here are some mockups.
First I just mocked an upper skirt in place. In my earlier mockup I had the skirts butting against each other in the middle, but I have been thinking they would be better if both were on the same arc as the tires.

I was thinking I could fabricate a middle section that tapered to a point. Then I saw a ratty tank that I had and gave it a try in the spot.

As I was looking at the Monark fender refelctor I liked the look of the chrome wrapping the fender and thought how it would be cool to continue that around. Then I remembered I bought this trunk lid trim from a 52 Pontiac. If I slice it in half long ways, it just might work. I placed the cardboard there to try and visually cut off half the trim.

Whenever I see your photos in the courtyard, I just want to step into the picture and sit for a while… it looks so tranquil.
Loving the rear end treatment. I thought it might detract from the coolness of the frame, but it actually enhances it I reckon.
Glen.
I think the tank half idea flows better with the rest of the bike
Maybe a Columbia guard would fit well with the big hole in the middle, but I'd only mock it up to see. Don't think I'd actually use one tho,it looks good with the openness (is that a word) of the frame. What do you guys think about chainguard? Do I need one? It would have to one that I cut short. It also would probably block more of the BB Shroud
I am thinking that most any guard I try wouldn't blend very well into the skirts. I am leaning towards leaving it guardless
