Had to share this pic that I found of chromed out Elgin headtube shrouds!!!

I believe since my shroud would have originally been like the one in the middle.
Mine has holes for both a light swtich and a horn button behind the steertube.
Also mine doesn't have the bottom of the V on the front of the bottom piece.

What gets me is that someone had this many perfect condition shrouds to even be able to take this photo!!!

Switched out the crank. I forgot that I had this cool one. I think it came from a PHAT XC03 chopper that I had. The styling goes great with the teardrops. Installed the crank with a couple more spacers to clear the BB shroud. I now have good clearance.

Decided to try going with 26" wheels because of the big gap above the 24" tire on the Evanaction fork. The only fat 26" wheels I have are these 3G copper ones that I got from one of my @Wildcat purchases. My new BOA whitewalls are at my office, so I put these Electra whitewalls on (I think they were called Retro Runners or something like that).

I haven't decided on frame color yet, so not sure if these will be the final wheels.

Good rim and tire clearance with these tires. There is a possibility that the BOAs just might fit.

As you can see I have a rider now.
Everything except the bars that is.
Well I was fighting daylight, but I made a few rounds around the hood with a few different sets of bars.
I'll post pics later, but right now I have to meet a late night AC repair man. One of our outside units stopped working an hour or so ago. Not a fun thing to happen in the Summer in Savannah.

Experimented again with the flipped Screamer bars. I added this cross brace for the heck of it. Once I went for a ride, I quickly had to raise the angle of the bars to keep my knees from hitting. Not sure about the look, but these were the most comfortable bars. I really doubt that I am going to use these though.

The bike rides GREAT though. Very springy comfy seat. The Evanaction is actually rather firm as far as springers go, but still provides some cushioning.

Here are the Screamer bar ride pics

The second ride was with the thrift chair pacer bars. I like the look and feel of these, but I would definitely have to cut about 6" or more from the length.
HORRIBLE BACKGROUND to look at these bars!!!

Third ride was with a set of longhorn style bars from an Electra Rat Fink. Very comfortable, but so plain.

AC is working again. Bad capacitor on the compressor. Well worth the service fee for a 11PM call.

Last ride was a set of raised and curved cruiser bars that I think I got from either an Electra or a Nirve cruiser. Comfortable, but just don't know about these.

I stilll like the longhorns even though they do lack pizzaz. I wonder how they would look farther forward and a little lower. Like with a long road bike stem?.....hmmmmm..:39:.

I think a classic antiquey type of stem would suit this bike better than those modern ones which i assume you're just using for mockup? I think those stems might be making all the bars look out of place.

Those rims are sweet. +the cranks. Never seen those.

I really like this shot, if the Boa-Gs fit..........money

The difficult thing will be deciding about the color of those wheels. Love the copper, just not sure about it on this ride. You could spray them with red Plasti-Dip, that way you could always peel it off....

I don't think even Imelda has this much problems when picking out her shoes!!!!
Maybe we should have a small comp on what bars Imelda Kingfish decides on.:D
