That is a sweet shop set up for sure! And skill set to match, @Skydreamer ! I remember your monster chopper build. Looking forward to what you cook up in your kitchen this year.

KF, glad to see that BB rescued!

WOW! Talk about a skill set! So glad @Skydreamer was able to work his magic.
Do to the pandemic some bike parts are hard to get
Some sealed bearing options. I really have had great service from Dan Comp. looks like bearings back in stock next week.
I’ve never ordered from Albes but seem to have a good Reputation

He really did knock it out of the park. We had fun catching up too.

Thanks for the parts supplier references. I'll keep those in mind.

We aim to please. Happy to help out

It was a blast watching you jump right into it. I had just as much fun catching up with y'all too. I envy your shop and the peace and beauty of it's location too. I should have taken a pic down at the creek too. Thanks again brother. We should schedule a ride soon.

Great news on the BB bearings. I was having trouble locating just the bearing by themselves that were the right size, so I reached out to Jack at Lawless Bicycles (the makers of the cups and other parts that will be shown later). They sell complete cranksets too, and he is hooking me up with the bearings that I need. They will be in the mail today. I can't say enough good things about the service I've gotten from Lawless. Excellent small company with killer quality products.

I have to give them a plug. Check out their wicked billet goodies here:

Great to see all the activity push me to a Page 2 Slacker. Can't sleep on a build with this crowd.

Lawless saved the day for me. I already received the bearings in the mail today. Just in time since I have to take a day off tomorrow. Not only did Jack send me the bearings, but also included a set of spare washers, spacer, and covers. Even a spare bolt to attach the crank to a Lawless sprocket. Gotta love a company that still cares about customer service.

Got home and couldn't wait to put the bearings in.

Then I went to test the spindle and while the splined area fit, the meat of the spindle would not. Turns out the two spindle 8 spline cranksets that I had were both an oddball 20mm diameter. I was so bummed, but then I checked some of my parts drawers and found a Monster crankset and luckily it's spindle was a standard 19mm. Crisis averted. So now I have two choices for cranks, the round and beefy Redlines or the slimmer with flattish sides Monster cranks. The Monster cranks are also a little shorter.

Broke out the Lawless Ruthless billet sprocket to mock up the crank arms with.

At first I was thinking I would like the flattened edges of the Monsters more with the frame, but I believe I like the bulk of the Redlines better. I'll know more when I mount the forks back on, but those fork legs are beefy 1.5" and think the beefy Redlines will balance well with them.

The redlines are essentially just as beefy as the chain stays and that makes them more visually appealing to me

True this frame has thicker stays than most frames since they are cast pieces. The Redlines do help balance that.
