Oh HEXy's brother
Flexy ?
Thowing family pics in the mix.:21:

You're like me sometimes. When I'm trying to catch up on a thread I'm usually looking at the pretty pics and not doing much reading. Just like Playboy. :D :D

Dig the way the chainguard shows more of the chainring and remains functional.

Chrome and rust, I've always fought it with bronze wool/water followed by a coat of quality carnauba. Those tricks together helped me for years in combating the on-shore salt air flow AKA Marine Layer in the Los Angeles Basin.

Tested the temporary red louvers

Guard mounted and out for a ride

Chainguard did good on the ride even though it's not complely locked into place yet.

Earlier, I started on the front bracket that was originally for round seattube and bent and hammered it out straight (mostly). Then while holding it in place, I started marking up one edge of the hexagon at a time and working on that angled bend.

At this point I had two of the edges done close enough.

It took me a couple of times to get the third edge done. I left it like this at this point because going any further means not being able to easily remove the guard for any finish work. It's kind of a self clamping spring right now.

Once the front was stationary, I worked on the rear bracket. This was simple. I cut a super simple bracket from some sheet aluminum that I bought last night that just extends from the seatstay bolt to the existing guard rear mounting tab.

Fully mounted for now.

Pulled out these old handlebar endcaps and tweeked them so they would fit my cut off clip ons. This looks much better. I was beginning to hate the holes showing in my photos. Looking at these photos, it looks like I need to tap one of them in a little more on the bottom.

I'll post up some more ride pics tonight, but Queenfish wants to grab a bite to eat and I am hungry after the two hour ride.

Here are pics from the ride I took after getting the guard mounted.

First I went to the tried and true Noble-Hardee Mansion fence wall.

Then down the street for the gratuitous Forsyth Park Fountain shot. It's so rare to get this few people in this shot.

Next photo stop was one that I found with @Dr. Tankenstein and our friend Chris a few months back. It's the cool facade of a flower supply house. I really like this Palmetto palm frond design.

Made my way up Barnard which I rarely ride on, but remembered this cool smaller fountain and got this nice photo sitting the bike on the ledge and looking up at some of our beautiful oaks.

Just as I was leaving this square, I saw this awesome wall with rusty greenish mustardy moss on it. It's always cool for me to discover cool new photo spots. This one has a lot of potential!!!! I love the vibe of this backdrop!!!!

Felt like I needed the opinion of some old grand masters,so I stopped to get some advice from Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt, Phidias, and Raphael. They were all unimpressed, but Rembrandt did tell me that it NEEDS MORE COWBELL!! I thought he said DUMBBELL, so I got some tourists to get me in a photo!

I also tried to get some advice from Vinnie VaGoGo, but he couldn't hear me..... :D :D
