Small update: Picked up the steel yesterday, they did a great job as usual, so work on the frame can begin!
Was going to do it today, but with a 9 degree top temperature and a fairly brisk wind I decided against it, went outside to start and turned around and came back inside immediately!
Tomorrow is looking better 14 degrees and raining but far less wind so I can stoke up the fire and the heat might hang around a little rather than get blown completely away...

Visited family last night and had to scrape ice of the windsheild when we left, first time I have had to do that... Nothing compared to what some of you guys get in your winters though!

Luke.

Scraping ice is the worst Luke. Did you actually have an ice scraper?
Lets just say I need some new wiper blades...

Frame should be in the next couple of days, fork will be next after that...

Luke.

...and we are reminded that this is actually your "winter build"....haha!

Except he is not in Australia, because in Australia you are required to wear a helmet...

Luke.

If I was forced by someone to wear a helmet just to ride a bicycle, I would never ride a bicycle again.

Yeah, I would prefer it was limited to children and when adults are riding on the road, I don't see a need for slow cruising in a park to require a helmet, but that is the law...

I have three helmets depending on what bike I am riding, a Toiga road/race helmet, an army style skate helmet for cruising and a full face T.H.E. downhill MTB helmet for off-road...

Just finished filming Video Update 8!

It is only a mini-update, it has been very cold here and although the cold-snap was meant to break today, it hasn't, so while there is some progress it is not as much as I would like.

Just waiting for YouTube to finish processing it and I will post it up.

Luke.

Sorry about the wind noise, no way to avoid it at the moment...
Luke.

You need a fluffy. That's what they call the windshield cover that goes over shotgun microphones when filming on location...

So you need some kind of wind suppressor on your camera's microphone. Do a search for "camera wind noise reduction" or something like that and you will find many ideas, but mostly, people seem to use sponge… like a dishwash sponge. Here is a link to one idea…

It might help with your video sound quality if it concerns you.

The front wheel turned out great!!!
It's a shame the cold weather is holding you up. We are all anxiously waiting for the frame to start, because that would mean that the wicked fork will follow.

Awesome, I really enjoy all your builds. These videos great BTW.

Here it is!
Video 9!

I have got some work done, I did not get a chance to film it so here is a little animation of it.
This is not actually how I did it obviously, but just a bit of fun.
Normally I work on one joint at a time, not all at once as shown in this video...
