Gold spears appeared on higher end mopars, as well as Ramblers and Ford's in the mid to late '50s. Would work well as a separator between two colors you choose.

Started sanding the side panels today and it seems that the original paint job already was a two tone. I would guess cream white and light green...

Did I mention that I hate sanding...?

Guessing from the layers it was painted green first and then the top half got a coat of white.
Definitely a classy colour combination!

This is how far I got before running out of sanding pads. This has to do for now.

Next up is attaching the side panels to the box and do some filler work.
Than I need to come up with an idea for the cover over the trunk. Plan A is to build/mold one out of cardboard that follows the curves of the buggy, plan B is making one out of some kind of tarp or fabric.

Could you make one out of cardboard, and then cover it with a thin cloth material to get a texture?

Great work on the buggy, I had a lot of catching up to do again. You've been busy!
I love the lines on this and two tone is definitely the way to go.
I like the new tailights better for this too.

Some glue and nails later the side panels are on...
Glue on the first panel is ready.

Now I have to give it 24h to cure before smoothing all the edges.
In the meantime I will take care of some small stuff...

Do you think that there is a chance that a red and white paint job could give the impression of Christmas come early?

That green and cream is growing on me, though...

Trimmed the rear edge an filled the gaps on the front end.

Adjusting the angle of the top edge of the cardboard

Sorry, even if can feel what you mean, the main colours are set. But maybe I will go with a bordeaux/cream/black combination.
A few days ago I saw that colour and got reminded of one of my all time favourite classic cars in this exact colours, the goddess:
