Added paint to the seat pan halves.

Cut out a polyester backed brown vinyl cover.

skipped doing any padding I’ll see how it rides.

Put the bottom pan on to synch down the edges while glue sets.

It’s back together now.

I think you’re right since I left the frame. I did paint the pans.

+1 on the above ^ ! And add the leather / vinyl cover. Purse leather from your local second hand / consignment store; those purses are nice and soft.

I picked up a 1/2 yard remnant at Joann’s for 50% off, enough to do a few saddles.

Not sure how it will hold up, fairly thick but pliable. Haven’t ridden it yet, not sure how it will feel, it has a few bumps. People ride them bare though. We’ll see, should be easier to redo.

Actually rode it this morning, seat clamp needs to be tightened. It felt pretty comfortable, it sets lower than the seat I had on it so I need to raise the seat post if I can.
Lots of time left, but think it’s good for now.
I have Brooks saddles on most of the bikes I ride any distance on so this is/was plush by comparison.

I worked on the chainguard and placed it after installing the resurrected saddle. So the bike is mostly complete and rideable. There are a few adjustments and tweaks that I still want/need to do. Another three months to go so it’s all fluid, things could still come and go.

I’ve lusted after a couple of these Motobike style bikes for a couple years. Both were Elgin’s. I just couldn’t work out a trade or lay down the money for purchase. Both were pretty much original, thinking that I’ll be happy with my version.
I have an Excelsior with 26” wheels that I’ll have time for now, it could use a tank and needs repainting. So now with a 26” and 28” versions life is good.

I added some more brass hardware. My son was telling me how to age it. I’m thinking I kinda like it shiny. In three months who knows.
I flipped the seat bracket over and raised the seat post a half inch or so. It fits my leg extension a little better now, a lot easier to pedal. The bars could be a little wider.
The battery tube brackets still need some patina/color.

The wear on both the truss rods had caught my attention previously. I noticed it again this morning. Now I’m curious as to what caused the wear over the years. I assume something was mounted there that rubbed the surface down over time. Maybe the basket that came wired to the rear rack?

I agree...open to suggestions.
Think I’ve seen what I think would work, but no idea where to find it. Tape, wire would be easy. I have clamp in mind.
I have a few of the stainless steel type but they are hard to get down to a small radius.

Bike is from 1934, I also have these Velcro one-wraps, I used them on my Faux Pedersen Ortho Build.

Black and gray, they are trim-able.
