Did a little test spot and it looks like these will clean up great if I can get the tires off without any damage. The tires are hard as concrete.

Sold the Mead for a nice profit today. Also scored some Monarch Springer parts that will come in handy on a future build.

Dude. You owned that for like 3 days.
And made more in profit than I paid for it. And used the cash to buy another cool bike... Ok 2 cool bikes.😜

$150 for this absolutely minty 1977 Stingray Junior

Found the serial number on big rusty.
B73887 located on the bottom bracket. Serial number lookup says 1957 but by then they were on the rear dropout. I do know 1948-1950 they were running an alphabetical system and a fire in 48 destroyed the records going back so I assume this one is 1945-1946ish?

Have the Stingray Junior sold to a friend on Saturday for $250. Nothing like making $100 profit before you even take the bike out of the car.

Funny thing is neither of these bikes were posted. Saw the big rusty in the background of a picture advertising another bike all together and asked if the rusty bike in the background was for sale. He sent a few pics and I told him I'd give him $50. Then the stingray was right there when I picked up the big rusty. couldn't say no to a clean all original rust free stingray.

It always pays to ask and always ask if they have any other bikes they are willing to sell.

Looks like that one should be grouped with the CWCs...
Yeah I forgot owned it till I saw the picture scrolling through my pictures looking for the fat bike...lol

So I found a date code on the rear morrow hub that dates to February of 1946 so this is a
1946 Schwinn DX.

Scrapyard score.
So I was riding yesterday with the K-town Rippers (local bicycle club that does massive Rideout's in Kokomo) and rolling past the scrapyard I checked my usual picking spot where they sit scrapped bicycles and I spotted this steaming pile of nostalgia. An old 80's Huffy Racing 50. I have had probably 30 of these growing up as well as Racing 20's and some others. The memories of this bike are worth me spending $10 on it with the sole purpose of hanging it in my wall so I can look at it and reminisce about days gone by. Now to throw some new gumwalls on it and give it a good cleaning.

Getting this beautiful green patina Schwinn later today on trade. One of my contacts I've done business with before just got the mother load of prewar frames and a bunch of bikes so we were going through some of it and showing off our latest scores and that caught my eye. Trading the stingray for it. He's also cutting me a deal on a Dyno frame to build up so I'll get pics of it later.

Better pictures. Got the green Schwinn and the patina is great. Love the green.

Also got an unknown Dyno frame that has been previously spray painted olive drab green so I decided to give it the old scuff and shoot. Now to order some new decals. Decided to highlight the D in the stem with the same orange as the frame just to make it pop. Soon as that dries for a few days I'll take a rag with some alcohol and clean off the excess on the stem.

Green Schwinn comes back as a 1950 serial on bottom bracket G036234 looks like a model D12

Well another day another trade session. I had a guy message me on one of my listings and ask about trades and I got tons of cool stuff. I normally don't take girl's bikes but I have been in the market for a nice one so my girlfriend has something to ride when we go out for rides. This Schwinn Tornado is minty. Should clean up really nicely.
IMG_20230711_190752075.jpg

Then there's the Schwinn Hornet...
IMG_20230711_190803856.jpg
IMG_20230711_190809195.jpg

Then there's the Schwinn Hollywood with engine kit.
IMG_20230711_190727192.jpg

Then I got this Schwinn Racer that is just cool. Love the graphics on this one.
IMG_20230711_190504506.jpg
img_20230711_190445956-jpg.240607

Then this custom tandem rat bike that I took a liking to... Lots of Schwinn parts but definitely a home built job.
IMG_20230711_190737104.jpg

Then the Western Flyer... This chain sprocket might end up on my Western Flyer Super after some cleaning.
IMG_20230711_190853662.jpg

Then this kids bike to match my other girl's bike
IMG_20230711_190817754.jpg

It cost me 3 bikes in trade but they are going to a good home and I have plenty of parts to tinker with now.
These are the 3 I traded.
1968 Schwinn Panther (trash find added wheels and seat from parts pile)
IMG_20230701_182425358.jpg

Rusty 1946 Schwinn D-12 ( paid $50 out of a guy's garden)
IMG_20230701_175710551.jpg

And lastly my late 30's early 40's Huffman Mainliner that I don't even remember what I gave for it but it wasn't much.

Got my new tires in today for my Huffy Racing 50 and got them installed. This one is pure nostalgia for me and brings back lots of good memories.
IMG_20230713_223412219.jpg
And back on the wall. Still have a little clean up to do but that's a job for later.

Found a great $35 parts bike for the Dyno today. This girl's Next Jewel bike will be donating the 48h chrome wheels, tires, tubes, headset bearings and cups, brake cables, gyro, crank, bearings, and a few bolts to the 1994 Dyno VFR.
