Well the seat and bars certainly fit in with the frame, but I am not sure whether they do with the wheels and tires. But that might be just me.
I need to do something rustifyimg with them. Haven't decided what yet.
Looking good all around. Also, where can I see more of that bike with the gold rim and fancy seat suspension? How much of that did you make? Looks awesome.
More of that bike here. Was an unfinished 2020 MBBO bike. It started life as a girls cruiser that I converted in a prior mbbo.

fantastic build so far.
Thank You. So glad you think so!

I took @GeePig 's suggestion, at lunchtime, I dug some early 40s cruiser bars out of the shed that match the strut rods and rusty look. I think they will fit in well.

Plan for the sissy will be to sand it, spray some appropriat rust spots on it and respray with some flat or matte, then wax it up for a slight shine, to match the bars.

Still trying to figure out what todo with the fork. Right now, it is sanded silver over shiny red that I had on Nothin' Special. Been tempted to leave it as it is.

I put an old sealed bearing bb conversion on it, and gave the cranks a spin. Still have more todo before I bolt them in.

Gonna make the cranks match the wheels. I think I will leave the chainring red. Cant hurt to draw the eye to the drivetrain a bit. Or as @OddJob calls it, a micro-drive. Currently, I like the little sprocket on a big bike look. It surprises some people, especially if it is geared well.

I have the same 30t ring in black on Midriff-ter. With my 8 speed , 11 - 40t cassette, there is some rub on the spider when I am on the smallest cog in the rear. Otherwise it's not noticeable. But it really helps the old knees in the short, fairly steep climbs that proliferate on our single track around here.

I keep going to the bike calculators and finally just put it into excel for reference.

Will see how it rides with 30x14 to start. I need to take 1/32 off the 14t sprocket to get the KMC Kool chain to fit. Accidentally got a narrow one a couple years ago, which will be perfect for this build.

I got the dremel routing table from a friend some years ago. It came with a dremel that the lick pin had been wore off by his kids.

I was planning to use my dremel in it, but it wouldn't fit. I found Amazon sold the pins so I worked on the dremel that would fit.

Now that I have a working dremel that locks into the routing table, I cut the fence before work and mounted it.

Will find some time this afternoon to shave 164" from each side of the little sprocket and 15 teeth on the chain ring are at 1/8 which also get to be trimmed.

So yesterday, I made a trip downtown to get an older sissy bar.
20230613_162252.jpg

A bit heavier than the one that's on the bike. Also almost two inches taller at the top hole.

I's a bit more wore. Gonna knock off the chrome with a wire brush. Give it a box full of nuts treatment and then some acid and dirt to rust it up and Mar the finish. Already some small pitting and rust, just gonna expound it.

So tonight, after work, I finished dialing in the fences and started the sprockets.

A couple passes on the Front chain ring, getting the depth set right.

One more pass tomorrow and should be good. Chain almost fits right.
20230614_185434.jpg

A bunch of passes both sides on the steel back sprocket.

Needs a few more.

Polishing comes after the chain fits.

Got the chainring fitting the chain now.

Polished up the 13er

Moment of truth came to see if it would work.....

... It did not allow for the chain to pass the cassette shifter and the hub. šŸ˜ž .. ah well, I have a 13 tooth stainless sprocket for my next coaster build. šŸ˜Š

Setting my attention on the 14 tooth sprocket now. Thin the face to fit the chain and try again.
20230616_165645.jpg

If it don't fit, I know the 16 tooth will, then I will need to move to the 32 tooth up front. It looks like I could fit, fingers crossed. šŸ¤ž
