Today I got political and participated in a protest ride. It was organized by the Berlin chapter of the German Cyclists Club (ADFC) and it meant to rise awareness of the need for bicycle friendly city and dubbed "Kreisfahrt" (circle ride) and got us around the city center on a roghly 36 km route. So far I don't know how many participated but it felt like a few hundred. As this was no critical mass the route was fixed and we were accompanied by police cyclists that cleared the intersections for us, so we could cross savely...

Starting point Hebelplatz:

Some cool rides/riders were in as well. He is no cycle police even if he looks like it (I could hear his tyres humming behind me):

Only a few cruisers:

The whole thing ended up at Potsdamer Platz, with some final words, right underneath the (reproduction of) the first european traffic light (imported 1924 from the U.S.):

For the way back I took advantage of the end location and partially used the S-Bahn to ride home:

So with the trips to and back from the S-Bahn, I rode 44,3 km today through Berlin on the Wolverine...

There are some big group rides around here. Bicycles and motorcycles.

Not many though, and I avoid them. It seems like every year some doofus causes a crash.

I don’t go to rallies at all. It got old fast for me.

This sweet plaid ‘58 Rudge is my ride for today. Named it the Grudge Rudge from a former build off.
The Grudge Rudge (that I discovered first on instructables) and Mellow Yellow are the two builds that inspired me a lot on my first RatRot Build (before even knowing the term) and finally brought me to this forum! 😍

This old stingray has been getting a lot of saddle time along with my Qualifier. Need to get the correct gearing up front on this one.

Maybe some rocks in the headlight or a sand bag to keep the front wheel on the ground..... :giggle:

racing the 2014 Specialized CruX this past Sunday at the Honorable Baldwin Challenge (3 hour race):

Placed third in the Masters 50+ category. No I'm not awesome, there were only 9 geezers, haha!

KF I need that shirt!

KCI... yes indeed, great day, despite having flatted and riding off course a couple miles. Looking forward to doing it again next year, perhaps with bigger tires. The CruX has 33s on it now (because it's my CX pit bike), maybe I'll size up to 38s.

I’ve had a bad achilles for 2 months and have only gotten in 2 rides so today I borrowed a mates’ KTM electric bike and did 40kms on it. I checked the specs and it has a 85nm Bosch mid-drive, 750w battery and 4 piston front brakes. Left it in eco mode most of the day but opted for turbo up a couple of steep hills. The last ebike I
rode I had to push it up a steep hill. this thing made it all too easy.
