Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner6/3 Rolling Getcha Flexy On

Picked up this cool "7" ball. Right color, right number, and Flames to boot. Oh yeah and it has the Harley badge.

I am thinking this will be my kickstand foot, but who knows.

I wonder how many 8 balls will be in BO8?

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner6/3 Rolling Getcha Flexy On

I think I have come up with an unusual way to use this as well.

I really want to make a tank out of this seltzer bottle, but it just isn't right for this build.

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/5 Wheel lacing opinion

I am debating whether or not I want to lace up my Nexus myself or have the LBS do it. after seeing Dr T end up with spokes that are too long, I called up my LBS and they are very reasonable on their price. I am pretty sure that I have seen other in the build offs use LBS to lace their wheels, so I think it is in the bounds of the rules.

Any opinions otherwise?

Let the LBS curse and swear.....

I just shipped some more yard sale and bike stuff that I sold, so it actually wouldn't cost me anything.

Re: Flex{\\\}Liner 7 TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/5 Rear Shock Testbed

Okay, I think I will move forward with the LBS lacing my wheel since it is Cool with the Gang (great group by the way) and I can justify the cost based on recent flip sales.

On to another subject. I am so glad that I thought of the test bed rig for this rear suspension. Tonight I took a closer look at the spring travel. I could tell it was pretty darn mushy and if I left it as is, I would be bouncing down the road with each turn of the crank.

The chrome spring is about 3.25" and just with me sitting on it the spring travels 1/4". I don't know how much travel the spring has left at that point.

I took this black 850 lbs/in spring from a wally springer. It was a little shorter, so I used the adjustment star as a spacer. This was much stiffer. Usable, but maybe a bit too stiff. I don't like the looks of it near as much as the chrome springer.

Tomorrow, I will try out this 650 lbs/in wally spring

I am thinking that something aroud 400-500 lbs/in would be just about right. The hard part is going to be finding one that function well and looks good.

As Always digging your Bike....
I'm a bit Jealous of that Hood Ornament you have, I've been wanting one like that to put on a front fender of My Columbia Jet Rider...

As far as your back spring problem... Go the NASCAR route and put a couple of Spring Rubbers in there .?.?
You wouldn't have the unadulterated Chrome look, but I'd think it'd look better than the other type of springs you're looking at...
Have Fun
