I like the top pic . Especially how the color of the bench blends with the pavers.
It's an interesting space, our downtown has become an artwork area. Lots of sculptures and paintings on buildings.

Yah but I don't kno why you parked your bike ther ? I can't even see the wood grain.

Lookin' good man! Big ape was right about that side car, big and odd lookin...glad you rethought it! That bike looks great on its own man, anyone would be proud to rock that around town.

Thanks,
The bike is almost done, but may not get finished before the deadline. The sidecar wasn't part of my original plan for this bike, it just popped in my head when I was cleaning the frame.
I'll work on it when I can, but next week I'm leaving on my trip and taking this bike with me as is.

All kidding aside , good lookin ride ,, any plans for a chain guard? ~ Rafael ~

I have a couple guards I thought about, but didn't like how they looked. So probably leave it without unless I find something on the road.

Just for the record, I think the wood slats on the benches were painted green.

I need some help.
The other day when I went for a ride, I noticed a slight noise from the rear hub. Today I decided to rebuild it.
I used the info found here.

http://ratrodbikes.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-departure-model-d-rebuild.30484/

I got it rebuilt, but the metallic noise was worse. So I took it back apart, did it all over again.
Now when I started turning the crank it was really hard to do, but when I tried the brake it engaged and made it easy to pedal again.
Only now, the brake won't engage. It just free wheels.

Did I mess up my hub? Or do you all think I just put something back wrong.

The only thing I can think of is maybe you put the transfer spring on backwards. I hope it's not broken.
That could be.
I also realize, I made the mistake of putting grease on the plates. I'll take it all apart and clean it well, just putting grease on the bearings and races.

You could haul the dog in that side car

Went for a ride today.
Now Lancaster Ohio is famous/infamous for some of its past residents, not so much for fountains.

But we do have one, and we all know what fountains can do for your bike. Unless of course, your fountain has no water and you take crappy cellphone pics.

Well as much chagrin as this might get, there's no dog to haul. I don't do much hunting these days, so no need for a dog. Never really saw the point in owning an animal I don't intend to eat.

But, I do have grandkids.(No, I'm not going to eat them:rofl:) but I'm sure once the sidecar is done they'll want to go for a ride.

Ok guys, I have brakes now. Still have a clicking noise, but I think that's from the chain rollers hitting the teeth of the rear cog. Now I just have to get some Lucas oil or something better than motor oil.

I have a couple other things left to do to this bike and I can call it done, but no more progress until mid July.

Thanks for the input on the hub.

Thanks guys.
The shape of the car gets me, I liked it at first but I think the angle of the front throws it off. I'll have to put it next to the bike and see how it looks, I might have to rebuild it.
How about a rounded front in lieu of the wedge shape?

I was thinking about that, or maybe a torpedo shape nose.

We need to see about getting a proper fountain pic with your build! :113:
